Juventus Appoint Previous Azzurri Manager the Experienced Gaffer

Juventus have named former Azzurri head coach Luciano Spalletti to take the helm for the remainder of the campaign.

The 66-year-old steps in for Igor Tudor, who was let go following the loss to Lazio on Sunday.

Tudor arrived at the club in March as Thiago Motta's replacement but left after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, after the team's failure to reach the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 where they were knocked out in the last 16 by Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June post a qualifying defeat against Norway, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and secured two Russian Premier League titles with Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday moving them to seventh position in the league - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.

They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, having lost once and drawn twice in their opening three matches.
